    Mr. Butler is a professional litigator with wide-ranging experience. He has worked for large corporations, solo-practitioners, and various types of practices in between, including an internship with the San Francisco Public Defender’s Office. He has extensive experience in business and commercial litigation, personal injury, and criminal law.

     

    Prior to attending law school, Mr. Butler worked for a commercial real estate company that owned and managed office buildings in Dallas, Texas. Mr. Butler has now come full circle, focusing his career on real estate and business litigation.

     

    Mr. Butler has brought dozens of cases to completion, working hard to find practical solutions to difficult problems while understanding the pressures that all clients experience throughout the course of a lawsuit.

     

    Originally from the Bay Area, Mr. Butler has a B.A. in philosophy from Northern Illinois University and a J.D. from the Wake Forest University School of Law. He now lives in Oakland with his wife and newborn son.

    Karl Runft is an experienced litigator, having represented clients in various commercial and civil matters in state and federal courts.  Mr. Runft has handled cases ranging from campaign finance violations to major industrial product liability matters from case intake to trial and appeal.  More recently, Mr. Runft has focused on business and real estate litigation involving partitions, commercial and residential purchase and sale agreements, construction defects, real estate broker fiduciary duties and standards of care, fraud and nondisclosure issues, commercial lease disputes, toxic contamination matters, and other general contract and business related disputes.

    Mr. Runft has experience in several jurisdictions, including California, Idaho, and Wisconsin.

    Mr. Runft is a graduate of the University of Chicago, where he received his BA degree, and the University of Wisconsin Law School.  Mr. Runft is also a former clerk for the Chief Justice of the Idaho Supreme Court, the honorable Gerald F. Schroeder.

    Nina Reynolds has litigated a broad array of real property disputes involving residential purchase and sale agreements, fiduciary duties and standards of care, fraud and nondisclosure issues, lease disputes, and construction defect claims. Ms. Reynolds also has extensive background and experience with third party insurance coverage claims.

    Jeff Martin, a founding partner of Peterson, Martin & Reynolds LLP, specializes in real property litigation with an emphasis in representing real estate brokers and agents, and real estate owners and lenders.

    In addition to his years of experience as a litigator in courts throughout Northern California, Mr. Martin also has substantial appellate experience. In addition, he has served as an advocate and an arbitrator/mediator in various Alternative Dispute Resolution forums.

    As the former chairperson of the Brokerage and Sales Subsection of the Real Property Section of the California State Bar, Mr. Martin led the state bar’s oversight of legal and practice issues affecting real estate professionals.
